The Faculty of Basic Sciences successfully organized the Club of Deans of Basic Sciences and Biomedical Sciences Faculties under the theme “The Role of Basic Sciences in Medical Education: Perspectives from Digital Transformation Trends.”
On November 7, 2025, within the framework of the 9th National Conference on Medical Education held at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Faculty of Basic Sciences successfully organized the Club of Deans of Basic Sciences and Biomedical Sciences Faculties under the theme “The Role of Basic Sciences in Medical Education: Perspectives from Digital Transformation Trends.”
This academic activity aimed to reinforce the role of basic sciences and foundational medical sciences in contemporary medical training, while also serving as a platform for networking and collaboration among universities and academies within the national health sciences sector.
The program was attended by representatives from 12 universities and academies across the country in the field of health sciences. The discussion focused on the role and position of basic sciences in current medical education, particularly in the context of rapid digital transformation and pedagogical innovation impacting higher education in general and health sciences education in particular. The application of digital technologies, virtual simulation, artificial intelligence, and online learning platforms presents both opportunities and challenges in delivering foundational knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and physiology within medical training.
