Workshop on Communication Skills in Medical Practice

On the morning of October 12, 2025, at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology – Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy successfully organized the workshop titled “Communication Skills in Medical Practice – Building Trust and Promoting Patient Cooperation.” The program took place from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and attracted more than 250 participants, including staff, lecturers, and students from various cohorts, demonstrating strong interest in this highly practical and timely topic in healthcare.

The workshop featured experienced speakers who delivered in-depth professional content focusing on communication skills—one of the core factors determining treatment effectiveness and patient satisfaction.

The atmosphere in the auditorium was lively, with participants actively engaging in discussions, asking questions, and sharing real-life clinical communication scenarios. All presentations were delivered on schedule, fully adhering to the planned program framework.

The event received close attention and guidance from the leadership of the Faculty of Medicine. The organization was carefully prepared, with sound, lighting, and visual systems tightly managed, contributing to a professional experience for all attendees. Participants attended seriously and demonstrated a strong learning spirit, creating a positive and effective academic environment.

MSc, MD Ngo Hoang Long – Secretary of the Youth Union of the Faculty of Medicine – addressed questions and concerns raised by students attending the workshop.

The workshop “Communication Skills in Medical Practice” not only provided essential knowledge and skills for staff, lecturers, and students but also helped raise awareness of the vital role of communication in building patient trust. This serves as an important foundation for medical learners and future healthcare professionals to develop comprehensively in both professional competence and medical ethics, meeting the increasing demands of a transforming and globally integrated healthcare sector.

The Faculty of Medicine believes that the values gained from this workshop will positively influence teaching, learning, and clinical practice in the coming period, contributing to the development of a healthcare workforce that is increasingly professional, dedicated, and compassionate.
