Faculty of Basic Sciences Welcomes Expert from Austria – Dr. Katharina Schmidt

On the morning of October 24, 2025, the Faculty of Basic Sciences at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy was honored to welcome Dr. Katharina Schmidt from Danube Private University, Austria, for an academic visit and exchange. 

The meeting was held in a warm and open atmosphere, attended by the Faculty Board and representatives from relevant departments. During the exchange session, both sides discussed key topics including research directions for Biomedical Engineering students, opportunities for study and research in Austria for both students and lecturers, and the potential for student exchange and academic cooperation between Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and partner institutions in Austria. 

Dr. Katharina Schmidt also visited research laboratories in Chemistry, Biology – Genetics, and Physics – Biophysics. The two sides continued to exchange ideas on research directions and the application of biosensors in biomedical research. 

The meeting opened up many promising prospects for collaboration in biosensor research, the development of joint projects, and future international academic exchange programs.
