ĐẨY MẠNH HỢP TÁC QUỐC TẾ TRONG ĐÀO TẠO VÀ THỰC HÀNH Y KHOA: GÓC NHÌN TỪ BỘ MÔN Y HỌC GIA ĐÌNH (English version below)

Đầu năm 2025, Bộ môn Y học gia đình đã tổ chức chương trình thực tập lâm sàng kéo dài 02 tuần cho sinh viên Trey Trien Minh Tang, chuyên ngành Y khoa, đến từ Trường Đại học Des Moines (Hoa Kỳ). Chương trình được triển khai dưới sự quản lý của Khoa Y và Bộ môn Y học gia đình, với mục tiêu giới thiệu cho sinh viên nguyên lý y học gia đình, mô hình chăm sóc sức khỏe ban đầu tại Việt Nam, phương pháp đánh giá và xử trí một số vấn đề sức khỏe thường gặp ở người lớn và trẻ em, cũng như việc ứng dụng mô hình tâm – sinh – xã, lấy người bệnh làm trung tâm trong thực hành lâm sàng. Trong thời gian học tập, sinh viên đã tham gia các hoạt động học bình bệnh án, kiến tập và thực hành tại Khoa Khám bệnh – Bệnh viện Trường Đại học Y Dược Cần Thơ, qua đó từng bước làm quen với hệ thống y tế và mô hình chăm sóc sức khỏe ban đầu tại Việt Nam.

Song song với hoạt động đào tạo thực hành, Bộ môn đã tổ chức thành công hai hội thảo chuyên đề quan trọng trong lĩnh vực y học gia đình. Hội thảo “Giới thiệu Hệ thống y tế tại Việt Nam và Hà Lan” được tổ chức vào ngày 24/6/2025 với sự tham gia của 132 hội thảo viên. Tiếp đó, hội thảo “Quản lý bệnh không lây ở tuyến ban đầu” diễn ra vào ngày 01/7/2025, thu hút 255 hội thảo viên tham dự. Các hội thảo được tổ chức trong không khí học thuật nghiêm túc và sôi nổi, tạo điều kiện để học viên trao đổi, thảo luận, đặt câu hỏi, đóng góp ý kiến và thực hiện khảo sát đánh giá sau hội thảo, qua đó góp phần cập nhật kiến thức và nâng cao năng lực chuyên môn cho đội ngũ giảng viên, học viên và sinh viên quan tâm đến lĩnh vực y học gia đình. Bên cạnh đó, Bộ môn tiếp tục triển khai chương trình đào tạo và thực hành kéo dài 08 tuần cho sinh viên Mariachiara Marrone, chuyên ngành Y khoa, đến từ Trường Đại học Maastricht (Hà Lan). Trong khuôn khổ chương trình, sinh viên được tham gia học lý thuyết, trao đổi chuyên môn và thực hành lâm sàng tại nhiều cơ sở đào tạo và điều trị như Trường Đại học Y Dược Cần Thơ, Bệnh viện Trường Đại học Y Dược Cần Thơ, Bệnh viện Tim mạch Cần Thơ, Bệnh viện Chỉnh hình và Phục hồi chức năng Cần Thơ, cùng các trạm y tế tuyến cơ sở (phường An Khánh, xã Mỹ Khánh). Qua đó, sinh viên có điều kiện rèn luyện kỹ năng lâm sàng, tiếp cận phương pháp chẩn đoán và điều trị phù hợp với điều kiện thực tế tại Việt Nam, đồng thời hiểu rõ hơn vai trò của chăm sóc sức khỏe ban đầu trong hệ thống y tế.

Nổi bật trong chuỗi hoạt động hợp tác quốc tế của Bộ môn, vào đầu tháng 8, Bộ môn Y học gia đình đã phối hợp cùng Hệ thống Y khoa Hồng Anh và Modality Partnership (Vương quốc Anh) tổ chức thành công Hội thảo khoa học quốc tế với chủ đề “Primary Care and Population Health Fundamentals – Cập nhật kiến thức quản lý sức khỏe cộng đồng và chăm sóc sức khỏe ban đầu”. Hội thảo đã thu hút hơn 150 hội thảo viên tham dự, bao gồm giảng viên, sinh viên và học viên quan tâm đến lĩnh vực y học gia đình, góp phần cập nhật kiến thức chuyên môn và tăng cường kết nối học thuật trong nước và quốc tế.

Tiếp nối các hoạt động trên, vào tháng 12 vừa qua, Bộ môn đã tiếp nhận thêm một học viên bác sĩ nội trú đến từ Hoa Kỳ sang học tập và trao đổi chuyên môn tại Trường với nhiều lĩnh vực như Y học gia đình, Nội khoa, Nhi khoa, Da liễu và Truyền nhiễm. Đây là cơ hội để Bộ môn tăng cường trao đổi học thuật về sự khác biệt và tương đồng trong mô hình bệnh tật giữa các quốc gia, đồng thời tạo điều kiện để sinh viên quốc tế tiếp cận thực tế các bệnh lý thường gặp tại Việt Nam, đặc biệt là các bệnh đặc thù của khu vực Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long.

Thông qua các hoạt động hợp tác quốc tế đa dạng, liên tục và thiết thực, Bộ môn Y học gia đình tiếp tục khẳng định vai trò tích cực trong đào tạo nguồn nhân lực y tế chất lượng cao, hướng đến mô hình chăm sóc sức khỏe toàn diện, lấy người bệnh và cộng đồng làm trung tâm, đồng thời từng bước nâng cao vị thế và uy tín của Nhà trường trong hợp tác đào tạo và nghiên cứu quốc tế.

Strengthening International Cooperation in Medical Education and Practice: A Perspective from the Department of Family Medicine

Over the past year, the Department of Family Medicine has actively intensified international cooperation in medical education and clinical practice through hosting international students and co-organizing internship programs, teaching activities, and academic workshops. These initiatives not only enhance the quality of family medicine-oriented training but also foster professional exchange and the sharing of primary healthcare experiences between Vietnam and other nations, progressively integrating with international medical education trends.

At the beginning of 2025, the Department of Family Medicine organized a two-week clinical internship program for Trey Trien Minh Tang, a medical student from Des Moines University (USA). The program was implemented under the supervision of the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine, with the aim of introducing the student to the principles of family medicine, the primary health care model in Vietnam, approaches to the assessment and management of common health problems in adults and children, as well as the application of the biopsychosocial, patient-centered model in clinical practice. During the internship, the student participated in case-based discussions, clinical observation, and hands-on practice at the Outpatient Department of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, gaining firsthand familiarity with the Vietnamese healthcare system.

In parallel with practical training activities, the Department successfully organized two important thematic workshops in the field of family medicine. The workshop entitled “Introduction to the Health Care Systems in Vietnam and the Netherlands” was held on June 24, 2025, with the participation of 132 attendees. This was followed by the workshop “Management of Non-Communicable Diseases at the Primary Care Level” on July 1, 2025, which attracted 255 participants. Conducted in a rigorous yet dynamic academic atmosphere, these workshops provided opportunities for participants to exchange ideas, engage in discussions, ask questions, contribute feedback, and complete post-workshop evaluations, thereby helping to update knowledge and enhance professional capacity among lecturers, trainees, and students interested in family medicine. In addition, the Department continued to implement an eight-week training and clinical practice program for Mariachiara Marrone, a medical student from Maastricht University (the Netherlands). Within the framework of this program, the student participated in theoretical learning, professional exchange, and clinical practice at various training and treatment facilities, including Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Can Tho Cardiovascular Hospital, Can Tho Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as primary-level health stations (An Khanh Ward and My Khanh Commune). These activities enabled the student to develop clinical skills, gain exposure to diagnostic and treatment approaches appropriate to the practical conditions in Vietnam, and better understand the role of primary health care within the health care system.

Notably, as part of its international cooperation efforts, in late August the Department of Family Medicine collaborated with Hong Anh Healthcare Group and Modality Partnership (United Kingdom) to successfully organize an international scientific workshop entitled “Primary Care and Population Health Fundamentals – Updates on Community Health Management and Primary Health Care.” The workshop attracted more than 150 participants, including lecturers, students, and trainees interested in family medicine, contributing to the updating of professional knowledge and the strengthening of both domestic and international academic connections.

Continuing these activities, in December the Department welcomed another student from the United States for study and academic exchange at the University in several fields, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, and Infectious Diseases. This provided an opportunity to enhance academic exchange on similarities and differences in disease patterns among countries, while also enabling international students to gain practical exposure to common diseases in Vietnam, particularly those prevalent in the Mekong Delta region.

Through diverse, continuous, and practical international cooperation activities, the Department of Family Medicine continues to affirm its active role in training high-quality health care professionals, moving toward a comprehensive, patient- and community-centered health care model, while gradually enhancing the University’s position and reputation in international education and research collaboration.
