CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY GRADUATION CEREMONY FOR DOCTORS, PHARMACISTS, AND BACHELORS IN 2019

On 19th July 2019, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy successfully held the graduation ceremony for doctors, pharmacists, and bachelors.


It was an honor of the University for greeting the Chairman of People’s Committee, General Director of Department of Health and local hospitals, medical facilities in Mekong Delta and Southeast cities, Vietnam. Representing for CTUMP; Assoc. Prof. Dr. NGUYEN Trung Kien – Rector of the University; leaders of different faculties, departments, and divisions; lecturers at the university; journalists and more than 2000 new graduates and their families, friends, and relatives attended and enjoyed the ceremony.

 First part of the ceremony, Vice Rector – Dr. NGUYEN Minh Phuong summarized the main features the whole course.

Ph.D. Dr. NGUYEN Minh Phuong shared some main contents in graduation ceremony

Assoc. Prof. Dr. TRAN Viet An – Head of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, pronounced the Decision on Graduation Recognition for 2304 graduates. For the format training system, CTUMP considered and recognized the graduation for 1439 students (including 796 General Doctors, 89 Doctors of Odonto – Stomatology, 98 Doctors of Traditional Medicine, 100 Doctors of Preventive Medicine, 194 Pharmacists, 62 Bachelors of Nursing, 72 Laboratory Technicians and 28 Bachelors of Public Health). The 4-year training system, CTUMP has 594 graduates (402 General Doctors, 75 Doctors of Traditional Medicine, 117 Pharmacists). The part – time mode of study has 271 graduated students (147 General Nurses, 70 Obstetric Nurses, 54 Laboratory technicians).

            During the ceremony, Dr. PHAM Kieu Anh Tho – Vice Head of Undergraduate Academic Affairs pronounced the Decision on the reward scheme for 145 students among graduates with the excellent ranking. This glorious reward is not only the result of hard effort in years studying and practicing in CTUMP of each individual, but also be a precious gift showing gratitude for teachers and lecturers in the graduation ceremony.

            Represent for the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. NGUYEN Trung Kien, Rector of the University,  congratulates new graduates successfully completed the curriculum after years of studying and practicing at the university.

            “I congratulate all of you complete the curriculum after years studying, practicing and growing up in CTUMP, especially in the Anniversary 40 years Building of our university. In this very moment, all of you officially become Doctors, Pharmacists, and Bachelors of Medicine. You are the pride and the future of your family and your country, also. I hope you can continue to nourish your responsibility and enthusiastic of a student graduated from CTUMP, always contribute to help your hometown and country in protecting and taking care of health for citizens, including your family and your own health. Trying all your best to live with the beautiful cultural values of our country, of the medical job, working by all the emotion and responsibility of a doctor, as Uncle Ho said “The doctor as gentle mother” to enlighten the future of country. Hope all of you always complete your work and have accomplishment in the future, memorize about the days studying, practicing and growing in this university.”

The representative for the new graduates, Mr. Tran Cong Ly – formerly class YH grade 39 pronounced “ The university and lecturers always help us in a very conscientious way during our days in school, give us crucial acknowledgement for our job in the future; the local hospitals encourage and create the best conditions to practice, doctors care and teach us precious lessons, especially the patients that we met, they are the ones who we respect most; our parents for supporting and giving opportunities for us to study and have the reward today”.

            The end of the ceremony was also the moment that our new graduates become “old students”, bringing the pride of “old students” of CTUMP to the world. Wish you always keep your hope and your dream, dare to deal with the challenges in your work and your life to have more success in the future.
