Welcome the Swinburne delegation visiting and working with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy
From July 2nd to July 12th 2019, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) welcomed a delegation from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia coming to visit and cooperate with CTUMP. The delegation consisted of 13 members, among whom there were 2 lecturers and 11 students.
The Swinburne
University of Technology was founded by George Swinburne in the city of Melbourne, Australia, in 1908. Since
then, the University has been innovating and improving in accordance with
societal changes and demands. Thanks to their tireless efforts, the University
is recognized as one of 450 best universities around the world by the 2019 Times Higher Education World University
Rankings.
The Faculty
of Nursing – Medical Technology represented CTUMP to greet the delegation from
Swinburne, Australia. In this visit to Can Tho University of Medicine and
Pharmacy, the delegation wished to provide their students with an environment
to practice on nursing and study about the health system in Viet Nam. The
Swinburne students were guided by two lecturers of the delegation, and
lecturers from the Faculty of Nursing – Medical Technology.
The Swinburne
delegation stayed in Viet Nam for ten days. During this time, the Swinburne and
CTUMP students took part in eight practice sessions on Nursing at the Hospital
of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Beside that, the Swinburne and
CTUMP students visited a commune health station in Truong Long commune, Phong
Dien District, Can Tho City, where they learnt about community healthcare
activities, and implemented health education communication at local people. The
Swinburne delegation highly valued the training and education that they received
at CTUMP. Through the visit, the Swinburne delegation also learnt more about
the culture and daily life of Vietnamese people.
