CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY WORKED WITH MEDICAL EDUCATION EXCHANGE TEAMS AND UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON, THE U.S. (APRIL 3RD- APRIL 7TH, 2023)
The MEET and UW delegations included
13 members, represented by PhD.MD. Rob Gertier (from MEET) and professors,
doctors, experts in charge of six specialized groups of educational exchanges
including Radiology, Nursing, Psychiatry, English, Ostorhinolaryngology,
Nutrition.
At the working sessions, the visiting
delegation together with Can Tho University of Medical and Pharmacy organized
the first meeting of the Journal Club and discussed plans of the surgical
program for children who have birth defects.
Within the week of exchange and working
with delegation from MEET and University of Washington, the delegation's
representatives, including professors, doctors, and experts in charge of six
specialized groups, met and discussed with many faculties of the University. At
the specialized educational exchanges, many exciting academic activities were
held to create the best time for the personnel of the Departments and Faculties
as well as the students and learners to share their experiences and knowledge
about Medicine in general as well as specific specialized knowledge in
particular on many topics that are well-interested nowadays, such as the
Introduction of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in the United States, the
Application of PET/CT in diagnosis and cancer treatment, Clinical case
discussions and case interviews at Can Tho City Psychiatric Hospital;
Performance of many surgeries such as rhinoplasty, laryngectomy; English
Communication with students, lecturers; Workshop “Evidence-based applications
in antenatal care practice”; etc…
The annual exchange week between Can
Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy together with 2 coordinating
delegations including Medical Education Exchange Teams (MEET) and University of
Washington (UW), the U.S. has ended successfully with many meaningful
activities for academic and advanced educational programs and experiences
exchange. This is a new breakthrough in the long-term cooperation between the three
counterparts and also a meaningful opportunity for students and personnel in
the University to have the chance to improve their professional knowledge and
general foreign language knowledge.
