The ceremony welcomed the participation of Mr. NGUYEN Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Duong; Mrs. TRAN Thi Kim Lan – Vice Chairman of the Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front of Binh Duong; and leaders of administrative offices and medical institutions in Binh Duong and from other provinces.  Assoc. Prof. PhD. NGUYEN Thanh Binh was appointed Dean of the Faculty. 

In 2022 – 2023, the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy would have three main majors: Biomedical Engineering, Public Health and Medical Tests. The Faculty would be responsible for training quality medical personnel resource, conducting scientific research, delivering scientific products, transferring science and technology achievements and providing medical – pharmacy and healthcare services. 

Additionally, the Faculty would conduct procedures to establish a medical diagnostic center in the fields of Hematology, Serum Biochemistry, Urology, Cancer Screening and Reproductive Health; and open a practice pharmacy of TDMU in the future.

Together with the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, TDMU also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) and other partners. Participating in the signing ceremony, on behalf of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, there were Assoc. Prof. PhD. NGUYEN Trung Kien – Rector; Assoc. Prof. PhD. NGUYEN Van Lam – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. PhD. VO Quynh Trang – Head of the Office of Undergraduate Training; Assoc. Prof. PhD. NGUYEN Thi Ngoc Van and PhD. HOANG Minh Tu – respectively Head and Deputy Head of the Office of Science – Technology & External Relations; MSc. PHAM Thi Minh – Deputy Head of the Office of Administrative Affairs; PhD. NGUYEN Nhu Nghia – Deputy Head of the Center of Training for Social Demands. CTUMP and TDMU would cooperate in teaching activities, improving human resources and community services, scientific research activities. 

The establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy is an important milestone for the TDMU, contributing to their vision of becoming a multidisciplinary university in service of the community.
