This
training course was organized for the purpose of introducing modern knowledge
and techniques for managing soft tissue injuries to medical staff in the Mekong
Delta region. Taking part in this course, there were 52 medical staff from Can
Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, 16 students of medicine and nursing,
along with 91 medical staff from other medical organizations. Participants of
the course were able to apply the new knowledge to assess, classify and treat
patients with soft tissue wounds in accordance with updated standards. In
addition, they received CME certificate from Can Tho University of Medicine and
Pharmacy and certificate of completion from the VietMD Organization.
Reporters
of this training course were, from the VietMD Organization, Dr. NGUYEN Dinh Van, Head of Office of
the Department of Nursing and Associated Department of Healthcare; and from the
Wound Management Association of Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. TRAN Doan Dao, Vice President, and Dr. VO Tuan Khoa, Secretary-General of the Association. The
training course provided participants with the following: (1) an overview of
the current wound management situation in the Mekong Delta region; (2) introducing
the global framework of TIME for wound treatment; (3) access practical
techniques for handling and bandaging soft tissue injuries. Furthermore, the
participants had to pass a test at the end of the course to qualify them for
the CME certificate and the certificate of completion.
As
the delegate of VietMD Organization, Dr.
NGUYEN Dinh Van had also organized a ceremony to award scholarships to
students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, who were bound by
financial difficulties yet tried hard to achieve great academic
accomplishments. This scholarship program would motivate them in their progresses
of achieving success and societal contribution, and aid them to overcome the
obstacles in their path.
