WEAV’S SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS 2019 CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

On September 4th 2019, WEAV organization associated with Scientific Research and International Cooperation Office – Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy to organize WEAV’s Scholarship awards program for the university’s damsels.


Women’s Empowerment and Voice (WEAV) is a non-profit organization that promotes education, mentoring, and leadership development programs for girls and women in economically challenged communities.

 

About delegations, award program welcomed Prof. LOIS Teresa Vietri – founder of WEAV scholarship in Vietnam, Mrs. DANG Thi Ngoc Lan – coordinator of WEAV’s scholarship in Vietnam and Mrs. LE Thi Anh My – representatives of WEAV organization. About the University, there were Assoc. Prof. NGUYEN Van Lam – Vice Rector of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Dr. NGUYEN Thang and officials from Scientific Research and International Cooperation Office with CTUMP’ damsels.

 

There were 9 scholarships that were awarded for CTUMP’s students by WEAV organization. Throughout the program, damsels had chances to share their learning and overcoming challenges process with point of views, or even participate in a discussion with delegates besides being granted scholarships.

 

At the program, within many meaningful activities of the organization, especially WEAV’s scholarship, Assoc.Prof. NGUYEN Van Lam – representative of CTUMP externalized a profound gratitude towards WEAV’s delegates for bringing supports to the university’s students as well as spreading out innovative ideas in the process of promoting gender equality. At the same time, delegates from the two units also seriously anticipated their expectations of having more and more cooperative activities between them in the future.
