STUDENTS FROM GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY (AUSTRALIA) HAVING AN INTERNSHIP AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

On June 17th to July 18th 2019, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) welcomed a delegation including 7 students majoring in Physiotherapy and 2 clinical educators from Griffith University to have an internship at CTUMP.


The internship focused on applying Physiotherapy in the treament of the diseases such as Musculoskeletal disorders, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Neurology and Gerontology.

The students from Giffith University had a successful 5-week internship with the guidance and teaching by Mr.  TRAM Van Nhieu, Dr. NGUYEN Thanh Nhu (from CTUMP’s Rehabilitation training Department); Dr. Mai Nguyen Thanh Phong (from Can Tho Central General Hospital); Ms. TRAN Ngoc Bich (from Can Tho Orthopesis & Rehabilitation Hospital).

During the internship, Griffith University students were divided into 3 groups and took turn to study at different departments at Can Tho Central General Hospital and Can Tho Orthopesis & Rehabilitation Hospital, students had more chance to exchange learn more valuable knowledge about rehabilitation methods through physiotherapy performed in Vietnam. At the end of the internship, Griffith University students were awarded a certificate after the closing ceremony..
