Within the days of 20th
and 21st of May, 2019, the Faculty of Pharmacy was honored to
welcome two experts from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Indonesia, visiting to
exchange experiences and to discuss plans for future cooperation, specifically
in education and scientific research. This visit brought new opportunities of
development for the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The Board of Directors of the
Faculty of Pharmacy, includes Assoc. Prof. DUONG Xuan Chu and Assoc. Prof. PHAM
Thanh Suol had a formal meeting with the Delegation of the Faculty of Pharmacy
of UAD (Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Indonesia) incuding Hari Susanti, PhD, Deputy Director, and Yudha Rizky
Nuari, MSc, lecturer
and international cooperation assistant. This is the first time UAD has visited
the Faculty of Pharmacy, since the Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between
two Universities in early 2019.
Within the scope of the visit,
the experts had a lecture for students about the topics of “Nucleic acid-based
drug delivery” and “Antihypercholesterol activity of standardized Costus
speciousus water extract”. This is an opportunity for Pharmacy students to gain
new knowledge about developing technologies in the world, as well as to improve
their English skills. In spite of minor communication barriers, all students
learned much useful experiences from these lectures.
In addition, the Delegation had
paid a visit to see facilities of Faculty of Pharmacy, the Departments and
Multi-Departments, the classrooms, lab rooms and research rooms. The Delegation
praised highly of the Faculty for its large scale, with orderly and hygienic
lab rooms organization. Especially, the Delegation noted the Faculty for
possessing advanced machinery and equipment systems that had been greatly invested
in and thoroughly maintained, become especially useful devices for education
and scientific research.
Afterwards, the official meeting
was held at the main office of the Faculty. Mr. Yudha Rizky Nuari, MSc., provided a detailed introductory
report of UAD in general, and its Faculty of Pharmacy specifically. In the report, Mr. Yudha had expressed the position
of the UAD and their wish to cooperate with the Faculty of Pharmacy in the
future, in exchanging students and lecturers, granting scholarships, and most
importantly, mutually cooperative teaching efforts. Mr. Yudha recognized the Faculties of
Pharmacy of the UAD and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy not only
have similar curricula, but also share concerns about future orientation of
scientific research. Mr. Yudha
asserted that the UAD always have support programs for international students
visiting or practicing in short-term, as well as studying long-term.
After the report, the
representative of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. DUONG Xuan Chu expressed his
gratitude to the experts. He was thankful of the sharing and sincere wish of
cooperation. He
wished to himself visit the UAD in the near future, and by then further the
opportunities for exchanges between two faculties. Concluding the meeting, both
parties agreed to maintain the good cooperative relation.
