Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Worked with Chulalongkorn University – Thailand (June 7, 2018)

On June 7, 2018, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) welcomed Chulalongkorn University, Thailand at the Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy’s Hospital, Can Tho City, Vietnam.


Chulalongkorn University, nicknamed Chula, is the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Bangkok - Thailand. It was officially established on March 26, 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI). Now, the university consists of 19 faculties, three schools, three colleges and six institutes for teaching and research with a total enrollment of more than 32,500 undergraduate and graduate students.  Chula is the only Thai university which is a member of Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). The members of Chula, Thailand were Assoc.Prof. Yupin Aungsuroch, PhD, Head of Nursing Faculty; Rapin Poolsok, PhD, lecturer of Nursing Faculty; Sakuntala Anuruang, PhD, lecturer of Nursing Faculty; and Joko Gunawan, MSc, PhD student of Nursing Faculty, Chula, Thailand; and Ha Thi Nhu Xuan, PhD, Nursing Faculty – University of Medicine and Pharamcy at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Representatives of CTUMP included Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tan, PhD, MD, Head of General Planning Department of CTUMP hospital; Thai Thi Ngoc Thuy, MSc, MD, Vice-Dean of Scientific Research and International Cooperation Office; Dr. Nguyen Thang, Scientific Research and International Cooperation Office; Ngo Thi Dung, MSN, Nursing Faculty; Ms. Ngo Thi Dieu, BN, Head of Nursing Department of CTUMP hospital.

Chula Univesity met and discussed with nursing leaders in CTUMP hospital. They also visited some clinical faculties in hospital, talked with some patients and exchanged knowledge about cardiovascular diseases and metabolic syndrome such as hypertension and diabetes.
