The ranking of Can Tho University of Medicine and
Pharmacy in Vietnam and South-East Asia

According to Webometrics, being ranked in the top 500 universities of South-East Asia is a worthy achievement
for the whole university’s hard-working and non-stop efforts. Specifically, there
are strives, contributions, and responsibilities of lecturers,
managers,
researchers, and students at CTUMP. This triumphant
achievement will encourage the spirit of creating, studying, and researching
among lecturers and students. Hopefully, we will maintain an upward
trend in the number of research works and international articles to prove and affirm the quality
and brand reputation of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is an
initiative by the Cybermetrics Lab, i.e., a research group of the Consejo
Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), recognized as the largest
Spanish public research body, first announced in 2004. It is published
twice a year, in
January and July. Webometrics publishes the ranking of universities around the
world based on their websites’ parameters with three ranking
indicators:
Impact: Number of external
networks (subnets) linking to the university’s website; Openness: Number of scientific
citations of scientists from the university based on data from
Google Scholar; Excellence: Number of science
articles highly cited based on data from Scimago.
Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy
(CTUMP) is assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry
of Health to train mainly the health professional force in Mekong Delta and
South-East Vietnam. The quality of most undergraduate training
programs of CTUMP has been accreditated. Currently, CTUMP provides ten undergraduate
