MEETING AMONG CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY, DONG THAP MEDICAL COLLEGE, AND PREY VENG PROVINCIAL DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, CAMBODIA ABOUT COOPERATION IN TRAINING.

On May 21th, 2022, there was a meeting among Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Dong Thap Medical College, and Prey Veng Provincial Department of Health, Cambodia about cooperation in training.


Attending the meeting, on behalf of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Assoc. Prof. PhD. NGUYEN Van Lam – Vice Rector and head of the delegation, and the heads of functional departments of the University paid a visit to Dong Thap Medical College. On the side of Prey Veng Health Department, Cambodia, the meeting welcomed Dr. SENG Pagnarith – Director of the office as the leader of the delegation; On the side of Dong Thap Medical College, Second Degree Specialist NGUYEN Cong Cuu – Rector, Second Degree Specialist Nguyen Tan Hung – Vice Rector, and heads of functional departments were representatives of the host unit.

Overview of the meeting

According to First Degree Specialist NGUYEN Cong Cuu, Dong Thap Medical College has trained over 1,500 Cambodian students in recent years and currently has over 500 Cambodian students enrolled. Now, the college expects to expand its training by collaborating with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy on exchange programs that allow Dong Thap Medical College graduates to further their studies at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy in the major of Medical Doctor.

Following a meeting among representatives from the three units that resulted in an agreement, Dong Thap Medical College, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Prey Veng Department of Health would implement specific programs for students in the future in accordance with the agreement. The meeting came to a good conclusion with a ceremony of souvenir exchanges among the three units to commemorate the initiation of a long-term partnership on training and scientific research.
