EDUCATIONAL EXCHANGE WEEK AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY

Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) welcomed the Delegations from University of Washington and Medical Education Exchange Teams (MEET), U.S.A in the Educational Exchange Week at CTUMP campus and CTUMP Hospital from April, 1st-5th, 2019.


Within the Collaborative Programs, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP) worked with combined delegations including University of Washington (UW) and Medical Education Exchange Teams (MEET), the U.S.A. The delegation carried out Educational Exchange for CTUMP’s lecturers and students from April, 1st-5th, 2019.

Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), represented by Rector Board of CTUMP; concerning faculties and departments consisting of Faculty of Medicine (06 departments of Family Medicine, Urology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Neurosurgery); Faculty of Public Health, Ondonto-Stomatology, Nursing and Medical Technology, and Basic Sciences have welcomed and worked with the delegations during the week.

The combined delegations including 27 members represented by Prof. Helen Sikov, Prof. Rob Gertler (MEET delegation); and Prof. Richard Veith (University of Washington). There were also professors, doctors and experts in 11 different educational exchange groups.       

Working activities and outcomes:

1. Surgery program for birth-disabled children: The two units   achieved the agreements about the time of selecting patients and conducting operation on October 2019.

2. The cooperation with Washington University: Signing MOU, discussing and intensifying the collaboration between the two Universities about inviting UW’s lecturers, experts to attend and present at 40th anniversary conference of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy on December, 2019.

3. Delegation’s members actively attended medical exchange activities such as holding Dentistry workshop, teaching with a variety of methods like clinical teaching, cases discussion, presenting…; exchanging experiences with CTUMP’s lecturers and doctors as well as University’s student clubs…
