CAN THO UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY ORGANIZE TEACHING AND CLINICAL INTERNSHIP GUIDANCE FOR STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DES MOINES, USA
Through the exchange program discussion between the Science - Technology & External Relations Office, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Global Engagement Institute and University of Des Moines, USA, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy has received 01 internship exchange student from the University of Des Moines, USA to study and practice about Diabetes Mellitus in the form of clinical rotation and thematic presentation from March 27 to April 21, 2023.
The trainee is Dr. WILLIAM Anh Viet Tran Bui
- a foot specialist from the University of Des Moines, USA.
On the side of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, there were Assoc. Prof. MD TRAN
Viet An and Dr. HUYNH Hieu Tam – Board of Directors of the Department of
Internal Medicine. The instructors included Specialist Level II Doctor DOAN Thi
Kim Chau – Direct Instructor, MSc. NGO Duc Loc – Direct Instructor, MSc. NGUYEN
Thi Ngoc Han – Observer, together with students participating in support.
The clinical internship successfully took
place at the Department of Endocrinology of Can Tho City General Hospital, along
with the exchange of knowledge and clinical experience between lecturers,
medical students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and students of
Moines University, USA. The aims are to research clinical issues and topics related
to the field of endocrinology, compare techniques, diagnostic regimens and
disease management in Vietnam and The United States, thereby widening new
experiences and knowledge applied clinically to both participants from both
sides.
